TDC Launches ‘Race to Highlands County’ Contest

SEBRING, Fla. (Aug. 23, 2016) – The Highlands County Tourism Development Council (TDC) is pleased to announce the launch of a new online contest, ‘Race to Highlands County,’ which targets out-of-county visitors. Highlands County tourists can enter to win two (2) Supertickets to the 2017 “12 Hours of Sebring’ international car race in March ($210 value), courtesy of the Sebring International Raceway (SIR).

To enter to win, visit and complete the online form. The deadline to enter is Dec. 31, 2016, and the winner will be announced by Jan. 31, 2017.

The 12 Hours of Sebring is an annual endurance race for sports cars held at SIR, on the site of the former Hendricks Army Airfield World War II air base in Sebring, FL. SIR is America’s oldest road racing track with more than six decades of storied history. Each year on the third Saturday of March, 3.74 miles of concrete and asphalt challenge the giants of sports car racing to one of the world’s most grueling endurance tests and thousands of fans flock to Sebring to see one of the greatest car races in America.

The mission of the TDC is to promote Highlands County as a friendly, attractive and diverse destination for tourism, thus creating a positive economic impact benefiting the entire community. It serves as a destination marketing organization that works to generate overnight stays, increase tax revenues, stimulate economic growth and strives to constantly enhance the image of Highlands County.
